Clergy Thoughts. Today’s Gospel reminds us of the two great commandments: love of God, and love of neighbour. Here in a nutshell, we have the whole teaching of the bible. The only real failure for a Christian is the failure to love. By rabbinical count, ‘the Law’ consists of some 613 commandments. The question as to which was the greatest was one frequently discussed among the rabbis. Jesus was asked to name one – but responded by naming two. That is, for him, the second followed directly and necessarily from the first. Love of neighbour arises out of love of God. What is revolutionary is not that Jesus linked them together, but he made them of equal importance. Deacon Ken

October Rosary Month: Rosary prayers 15min before Mass: Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays Morning/Evening & Sundays. Anyone can lead. Wednesday (Glorious Mystery), Friday (Sorrowful Mystery), Saturday (Joyful Mystery), Sunday (Glorious or any Mystery), Thursday (Luminous Mystery).

November Month of the Holy Souls. There will be sheets of papers available, for parishioners to write the names of their deceased ones, and place in a basket by the Peace Candle next Sunday. Please write on your envelope “Holy Souls”. Please put any donations in the envelope. This money forms the Holy Souls’ Mass stipends. Prayers and Masses will be offered for them during the month of November.

First Friday of the Month: Exposition 0900 and Mass 0930 at St Henry Morse

A Centenary for World Mission Sunday.  Please pray for missionaries and the communities they serve. If you are able, please give whatever you can- using a donation envelope, the Dona machine or giving online by scanning the QR code on the envelope in the community room or poster on the door as you come into the church. Please leave Red Missio Boxes in the sacristy. Thank you.

Confirmation: Meeting with parents/carers and Confirmation candidates is on Saturday 7^th November at 4.30 pm. The first session of the Confirmation programme will start after the meeting after which we all attend the 6 pm Mass. It is important that parents/carers attend the meeting. Parents/carers do not have to attend subsequent sessions. Forms are still available in the community room.

Grand Christmas Raffle. will be drawn after the Carol Service in December. To help make this a success. There is a box marked in the community room to leave exciting prices.

Macmillan A big heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the Macmillan Coffee Morning last Sunday.  This includes all our bakers who produced some sumptuous cakes and everyone who donated a great range of prizes for the tombola.   And then, of course, we have t o thank all of you who came on the day and donated so generously.  Our cash total was £275. 30.   However, this total is likely to increase as some people made their donations by the Dona card terminal and it will take a little while for these payments to show up on our account. We will put the final total into the newsletter once we have these figures but, in the meanwhile, thanks again to everyone who contributed to this worthwhile cause.
