A warm welcome to everyone. Tea and coffee are served after the 10.00am Mass on Sundays and the 09.30 Mass on Wednesdays; all are invited to join us. Father Alex offers a warm welcome to anyone who is visiting the parish this week.
Clergy Thoughts: Today we celebrate one of the oldest feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary gives us great hope as we contemplate this outstanding life of this great woman our mother, and the Mother of God. She motivates us by example and prayer to grow in God’s grace, to be receptive to His will, to convert our lives through sacrifice and penance. May she motivate us to seek and fix our eyes on that everlasting union in the kingdom of heaven. Amen! Fr Alex
Tuesday 18th August: A Guided Tour of Diss Cemetery. An evening walk around our neighbouring cemetery with Basil Abbot, curator of Diss Museum. Basil will take us to the oldest part of the cemetery and tell us a little about its history. We will then pay a visit to a few of the Diss ‘notable’ residents. It should make for a pleasant evening stroll, finishing with refreshments in the Community Room. There is no charge for the event, but donations are welcome towards the Diss Museum upkeep. All welcome. Start time 7 pm from the Community Room.
