Parish News

A warm welcome to everyone. Tea and coffee are served after the 10.00am Mass on Sundays and the 09.30 Mass on Wednesdays; all are invited to join us. Father Alex offers a warm welcome to anyone who is visiting the parish this week.

The Season of Lent: Soon we will have entered the Season of Lent. Lent is not just about giving something up; it is also about doing something extra. Whatever we decide to do should be helping us “to die a little more to self’. It is a Season of Prayer, and prayer acquires strength when accompanied by fasting and almsgiving. During Lent we have our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and his journey to Jerusalem and we journey with him. Lent is about growing in love for God, for one another and for those most in need. As a Parish may we continue to thank God for how far He has brought us, praying daily for a fruitful Lenten Season. Fr Alex

Clergy Thoughts "As we enter our period of Lent, we can be reminded that we have both a reminder of our own Baptisms and a time of Penance, to aid us all towards, and in readiness, to celebrate the eternal Easter Mystery.  Our faith should be to remember "When He calls me, I will answer Him ".  And so, let us all be mindful of our Lenten needs of our Faith "   Reverend Dcn David Croucher.

Please pray for the Repose Soul of Fr Peter Leeminig RIP

CAFOD Family Fast Day this Lent is on Friday 27 February. This is an opportunity to demonstrate our love for our neighbour by eating simply and giving generously to help families going hungry because of droughts and floods.
Donations are welcome using a CAFOD envelope, the Dona digital collection plate in the community room or via cafod.org.uk.

Parking: The welcome increase in Mass numbers has also meant more vehicles in the car park. Added to this are those who also use our car park to visit the cemetery. We do ask that every effort is made to park within the spaces allocated, to enable all Parishioners and visitors to park safely. We ask you not to park on grass verges, this does damage to the grass and the kerbs.

Churches Together Lenten Lunches and the World Day of Prayer are creeping up on us. The dates are as follows all on Fridays.

Feb 27 - St Mary’s Church - 12.30

Mar 6 - Methodist Church - 12.30 followed by The World Day of Prayer service.

Mar 13 - St Henry Morse - 12.30 (please can we have volunteers to help on the day and/or offer to make soup),

Mar 20 - Salvation Army Church - 12.30

Westminster Cathedral Trip - Bank Holiday Monday 25th May.  Coach leaving St Henry Morse Church at 9.00am, take a packed lunch. Guided Tour of Cathedral, followed by Mass celebrated by Fr Alex & Deacon David, and free time to visit the exhibition.  See poster to add your name, and there's a sheet with more details.

Diocesan Jubilee Holy/Trinity parish event. Save the date.

This is to be on Sunday 27th September with Mass followed by an international finger meal and a display in the church of the many achievements we have had over the past 50 years since our Norwich Diocese was established. We are also looking for ideas from new and existing parishioners of what our parish could offer in the future. Please invite anyone you know from the parish now or who may have moved away, so there is plenty of time for them to be able to plan to attend.
