Parish News

A warm welcome to everyone. Tea and coffee are served after the 10.00am Mass on Sundays and the 09.30 Mass on Wednesdays; all are invited to join us. Father Alex offers a warm welcome to anyone who is visiting the parish this week.

Clergy Thoughts: On this 2nd Sunday in the octave of Christmas, we continue to share in the joy of the newborn king. We continue to greet the Word made flesh that now dwells among us, and we continue to rejoice because, as the wisdom of God, he dispels our darkness and illuminates our lives. God chose to enter our human story, sharing our joys and struggles, so that we might share in His divine life. The readings invite us to deepen our appreciation of the great mystery of God’s love for us, a love so complete and unconditional that it made its home among us, and to respond to that love by letting it take possession of our hearts.  For Christ, the word made flesh, still comes to us always in the Eucharist, in His Word, and in one another. As we begin a New Year, let us carry the light of Bethlehem into our daily lives, reflecting God’s love through kindness, patience, and forgiveness. May Mother Mary help us to keep Christ close and share Him with the world. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026 to you all. Amen. Fr Alex

THANK YOU There are always so many people to thank at this time of the year - everyone involved in the journey of Advent as we prepared for the Solemnity of Christ’s birth. The church looked beautiful for the Christmas Masses - many thanks to the flower arrangers and those who decorated the Christmas tree and prepared the crib. Thanks to all our musicians and singers, our altar servers, Children’s Lit, stewards, Bidding Prayers, welcomers, collectors, coffee makers, our Sacristans, readers, finance & social Committees, extraordinary ministers of Communion and Catechists. Thanks too, to everyone involved behind the scenes - those who clean the linen & cleaners so faithfully and those who look after the parish newsletter and website. In short, thanks to everyone in the parish for all you do. Wishing you and your families every blessing this Christmas. Fr Alex
